Boot Camp

If any of you are like me then your areas where you scrap, whether you have just a small spot that you have to take out as you create or you have a whole room to design in, are a mess after the holidays. So, I have decided to do Organizational Boot Camp over at Scrappily Ever After. It lasts 6 weeks and there are prizes. I really need this! And I'm sure there are a lot of you that do too. So, if you are thinking about joining us then go to either of the links and find out what it's all about. Here are the details. Hope to see many of you there! It starts Monday!

Craftin Away

Tonight should be a major crafting night. I have three projects that I need to get done. I have a birthday card that I need to make for my father-in-law, his birthday is in January and I want to get a head start on it; I am also designing the bulletin board at work one last time before the new year, because I won't be working there anymore, so I want them to have a nice board that can last them a little while; and I also have a surpise project that I am working on for next week...more information to come on that, so stay tuned!

Also, stayed tuned for my Goals for 2011 that will be posted on the 1st!! I would love to hear what some of your goals for the New Year are, they don't have to be crafty, they can be anything.

Ouch!

Recently, my boss had to have a procedure and immediately I though about this bandaid on the Smiley Cartridge (a cartridge available exclusively for Gypsy owner by download). I just had to make it and I think it turned out so adorable!!

I used the "Ouch" cutout for the inside of the card. It turned out so cute.

Buzz Xmas

My sweet 5 year old little boy is very much into Toy Story as many kids are right now, and so when they came out with the new Toy Story cartridge I wanted to get it really bad. I held off waiting for it to go a little less than it was, and finally, it did!! Yeah! So, since I haven't been able to use it lately (been sick!!) I really wanted to make one for Christmas for him.

He especially loves Buzz, so I chose the Buzz on page 35. I originally was going to do the one on page 38, but after cutting everything out I just could not figure out how to put it together. Am I the only one that has had this problem? I thought that the newer carts were suppose to be made better for layering. Not so! Anyway, I can't remember what I cut him out at (because I had to play around with it a little).

Last I used my Cuttlebug and the Polka Dots embossing folder to emboss some of the plain cardstock to add a little dimension.
Again I used DVWC Christmas stack and Bazill cardstock for the solid colors. I think that it turned out fabulous and I know that my son is going to love it. Hope that you do too!

Have a Very Belle Xmas!

My daughter is 3 and this year she is starting to get into Barbies and Disney Princesses. So, I had to get the Disney cartridges and thought that her Christmas card was the perfect time to make Belle. The cuts were quite a bit more difficult to put together than I thought they would be, but I managed to get them all together (After the first time failed!) It turned out beautifully. I ended up drawing in her eyes and mouth with colored pencils, but I think that my daughter will love her!

I cut Belle out from page 50, at 5.5". I also planned it all out on my Gypsy, so that I knew what color everything had to be and I could use as many scraps as possible. I also added a little glitter glue to the  would be fuzzy areas of her coat.

All the patterned paper is DCWV Christmas stack and all the solid cardstock is Bazzill.

Hope that you like it and Happy Holidays!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

One of my kids most annoying favorite Christmas songs to sing is Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, so when I started to think about what I was going to make for their teachers for the holidays I just knew that I had to incorporate that cute little reindeer that is on the Create a Critter cartridge.

So, what I did was I used the Once Upon a Princess box on page 65 and the using my Gypsy I sized rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook and sized them to fit the sides of the box. After I cut those out I embossed them with my Cuttlebug and the Snowflake folder and then adhered them to the sides (with my pink ATG gun, of course).

For this cute little reindeer I used, of course, the Create a Critter cartridge. The reindeer is on page 73. He is just so adorable, and of course, appropriate for this time of year. He is cute at 4.5", I think.

All the cardstock is DCWV Christmas packs. I filled them with Christmas pads of paper, pencils, and of course something I no one could never live without chocolates. Yum!! (I bought some for myself my kids too)

Snow Adorable!

I have been slowly making things for my co-workers and my kids teachers and have a lot of things to post, but havne't had a chance to actually take some decent pictures and load them onto the computer.

Anyway, I made this for my daughter's preschool teacher and I do have some good pictures on my camera at home and just haven't had time to load them onto the computer. I took this picture with my camera phone, so I will replace it when I get home. I just had to get it posted though, because I think that it turned out so cute!

Hope that you like it.

Just When You Think...

It Can't Get Any Worse! It Does!

So after the awful last two months that I have had I thought that I could finally start to move on and get my house back in order and what happens??? Our basement floods! Granted, it was only two inches at the deepest points, but it still ruined all of our carpet in the basement and are you ready...

A STACK OF PAPER!!

Then, we found out that the insurance won't cover it because we don't have that ryder on our policy...great! Clean up was all on us, or should I say my husband. He was wonderful though and did it almost all by himself over the weekend. He is incredible!

So, most of the basement is back together and my scraproom is clean. We have no carpet or rugs, but we the walls are back to normal and the floor has been dried and bleached. Most of our stuff was in tubs or off the ground for some reason or another.

So, I was able to get back into my scraproom and create some Christmas cards. They are adorable if I do say so myself...pictures to follow soon.

Unfortunately, this pesky inner ear infection that I have will not go away because of my awful immune system, so the doctors have be taking Sudafed, Afrin, Zycam, and vertigo medicine...FUN!! Anyway, I am doing little projects as I can and promise to have pictures up soon...so keep an eye out!!

Oh, plus...BIG NEWS...New Years Eve is my last day at work, so I will have more time to make some scrap goodies, after all my chores get done around the house of course!

No...I'm Still Around!

Hi Everyone! Yes, I am still around. While everyone else is getting ready for the holidays, I have unfortunately been dealing with a few losses in my life. Just after my last post I lost my grandmother and then a few weeks ago I had another loss that I am not yet ready to talk about...I'm still healing and probably will be for quite a while.

I have not been gone though from the scrapping world. I may not have been posting or commenting, but I have still been checking in with all of my blogging friends and seeing all the wonderful things that all of you have been doing for the holidays. It has helped me get a little of my desire back. I am off of work till Friday, so I think that I might try to get a few things done and I will post them when I do.

So, for all of those that noticed I was gone, I am sorry and I am back. I am trying to look forward to the holidays and the New Year with Joy. I am hoping to let this year go and start a New Year fresh and with hope!

Congrats Baby

Preface: This is an old post that somehow never got posted...so, since I am in the process of editing other posts for this week I thought I would post this for your Sunday enjoyment!

Recently, some friends of ours had there 3rd baby (our sons and daughters are the same age), so I got all three of the kids a gift, but wanted to make a special card for the baby (and of course the rest of the family). So, for the very first time I made an easel card. And can I just tell you that I am IN LOVE! As easy as these are they are beautiful and a great way to showcase a handmade card.

Also, I'm not sure if everyone does this or not, but I decided to write the personal message underneath (or on top of the inside) the front of the card. This way the receiver can see it, but not necessarily everyone that takes a look. Hope that you enjoy and a scrappy day to all!!

Back 2 School Layouts

Good morning everyone! Hope that everyone has a fabulous day today. It has come and gone. My first ever Back to School month. My son started Kindergarten and from here on out it will only be summer's and breaks off for him and I will admit that I am a lot little sad. He is my oldest, my first, my little boy.

I drop him off in the morning and all I want to do as I watch him walk into his classroom is grab him, hug him, never let him go, so that he never grows up. I know that isn't how it works though, nor should it be. I know that it is good that he is growing up, and learning, and becoming a sweet little man.

Well, because this is such a momentous occasion I made a few back to school layouts before they even started, so that I could just throw the pictures on there and not have to worry about them. My daughter also started her first year of Preschool and is loving it. They are such great kids and I am so lucky.

Hope that you enjoy!

Ruff Day...

Recently, my Aunt found out that her doggy's cancer might be back. Very sad. She's already gone through it once and came out healthy on the other end, although she did lose an eye. But, she's such a sweet dog and I feel so bad that she may have to go through all of that all over again. So, I whipped up a quick card for both of them to let them know that we are thinking about them.

Thank You to My Mom

My mom is wonderful. She is so helpful whenever, whatever I need. So, when she said that she had to run to Hallmark to pick up a Thank You card for someone I knew that I wanted to make her some of her own Thank You cards to use. I put her initials on the front using the Cindy Loo cartridge. I think that it turned out simple, but fabulous!

Thank Ewe

Recently my daughter had her 3rd birthday party and I wanted to make a special thank you card for one of her new little friends. It's actually my son's best friends little sister. Recently, they have all started to have playdates and have gotten along so good. Well, their mom was very due for her 3rd baby and she still managed to get a present and get them to our house, on time (half my old friends can't do that), so that they could play and share her birthday. So, I wanted to make them a special home made "Thank Ewe" car.

Our neighbors next door had a new baby a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted a card to go along with the cute clothes that I got them as a gift. I used the new B is for Boy Lite cartridge. I love this cartridge. It is great for Babies, Toddlers, Big Kids, all ages really. Even grown-ups!

Congratulations!

This weekend we were super busy. I worked Saturday morning, then had to come home immediately at take a shower and get ready for one of my husbands cousin's weddings. This is the second one that we have been to in a month...and they're sisters! I would hate to be their parents! It was a lot of fun even though we didn't stay long. We got to spend some time with my in laws which is always nice! Anyway, I had to make 2 wedding cards, because I didn't have to time to make one for the first wedding, but wanted to make sure that she got one. So here they are...

Sugar and Spice

This is made with the new Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite cartridge that is exclusive to Walmart. I wasn't sure when these first came out whether or not I was going to get any, because of the price and it not being a full cart and plus, I am not fond of "exclusive" carts...but, alas I was weak and I'm glad that I was. These are fabulous! They are packed with cute cuts and they are worth the price. I have 4 so far and can definitely see myself getting more. Keep an eye out for more posts with these!
