Boot Camp

If any of you are like me then your areas where you scrap, whether you have just a small spot that you have to take out as you create or you have a whole room to design in, are a mess after the holidays. So, I have decided to do Organizational Boot Camp over at Scrappily Ever After. It lasts 6 weeks and there are prizes. I really need this! And I'm sure there are a lot of you that do too. So, if you are thinking about joining us then go to either of the links and find out what it's all about. Here are the details. Hope to see many of you there! It starts Monday!

Craftin Away

Tonight should be a major crafting night. I have three projects that I need to get done. I have a birthday card that I need to make for my father-in-law, his birthday is in January and I want to get a head start on it; I am also designing the bulletin board at work one last time before the new year, because I won't be working there anymore, so I want them to have a nice board that can last them a little while; and I also have a surpise project that I am working on for next week...more information to come on that, so stay tuned!

Also, stayed tuned for my Goals for 2011 that will be posted on the 1st!! I would love to hear what some of your goals for the New Year are, they don't have to be crafty, they can be anything.

Ouch!

Recently, my boss had to have a procedure and immediately I though about this bandaid on the Smiley Cartridge (a cartridge available exclusively for Gypsy owner by download). I just had to make it and I think it turned out so adorable!!

I used the "Ouch" cutout for the inside of the card. It turned out so cute.

Buzz Xmas

My sweet 5 year old little boy is very much into Toy Story as many kids are right now, and so when they came out with the new Toy Story cartridge I wanted to get it really bad. I held off waiting for it to go a little less than it was, and finally, it did!! Yeah! So, since I haven't been able to use it lately (been sick!!) I really wanted to make one for Christmas for him.

He especially loves Buzz, so I chose the Buzz on page 35. I originally was going to do the one on page 38, but after cutting everything out I just could not figure out how to put it together. Am I the only one that has had this problem? I thought that the newer carts were suppose to be made better for layering. Not so! Anyway, I can't remember what I cut him out at (because I had to play around with it a little).

Last I used my Cuttlebug and the Polka Dots embossing folder to emboss some of the plain cardstock to add a little dimension.
Again I used DVWC Christmas stack and Bazill cardstock for the solid colors. I think that it turned out fabulous and I know that my son is going to love it. Hope that you do too!

Have a Very Belle Xmas!

My daughter is 3 and this year she is starting to get into Barbies and Disney Princesses. So, I had to get the Disney cartridges and thought that her Christmas card was the perfect time to make Belle. The cuts were quite a bit more difficult to put together than I thought they would be, but I managed to get them all together (After the first time failed!) It turned out beautifully. I ended up drawing in her eyes and mouth with colored pencils, but I think that my daughter will love her!

I cut Belle out from page 50, at 5.5". I also planned it all out on my Gypsy, so that I knew what color everything had to be and I could use as many scraps as possible. I also added a little glitter glue to the  would be fuzzy areas of her coat.

All the patterned paper is DCWV Christmas stack and all the solid cardstock is Bazzill.

Hope that you like it and Happy Holidays!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

One of my kids most annoying favorite Christmas songs to sing is Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, so when I started to think about what I was going to make for their teachers for the holidays I just knew that I had to incorporate that cute little reindeer that is on the Create a Critter cartridge.

So, what I did was I used the Once Upon a Princess box on page 65 and the using my Gypsy I sized rectangle from Plantin Schoolbook and sized them to fit the sides of the box. After I cut those out I embossed them with my Cuttlebug and the Snowflake folder and then adhered them to the sides (with my pink ATG gun, of course).

For this cute little reindeer I used, of course, the Create a Critter cartridge. The reindeer is on page 73. He is just so adorable, and of course, appropriate for this time of year. He is cute at 4.5", I think.

All the cardstock is DCWV Christmas packs. I filled them with Christmas pads of paper, pencils, and of course something I no one could never live without chocolates. Yum!! (I bought some for myself my kids too)

Snow Adorable!

I have been slowly making things for my co-workers and my kids teachers and have a lot of things to post, but havne't had a chance to actually take some decent pictures and load them onto the computer.

Anyway, I made this for my daughter's preschool teacher and I do have some good pictures on my camera at home and just haven't had time to load them onto the computer. I took this picture with my camera phone, so I will replace it when I get home. I just had to get it posted though, because I think that it turned out so cute!

Hope that you like it.

Just When You Think...

It Can't Get Any Worse! It Does!

So after the awful last two months that I have had I thought that I could finally start to move on and get my house back in order and what happens??? Our basement floods! Granted, it was only two inches at the deepest points, but it still ruined all of our carpet in the basement and are you ready...

A STACK OF PAPER!!

Then, we found out that the insurance won't cover it because we don't have that ryder on our policy...great! Clean up was all on us, or should I say my husband. He was wonderful though and did it almost all by himself over the weekend. He is incredible!

So, most of the basement is back together and my scraproom is clean. We have no carpet or rugs, but we the walls are back to normal and the floor has been dried and bleached. Most of our stuff was in tubs or off the ground for some reason or another.

So, I was able to get back into my scraproom and create some Christmas cards. They are adorable if I do say so myself...pictures to follow soon.

Unfortunately, this pesky inner ear infection that I have will not go away because of my awful immune system, so the doctors have be taking Sudafed, Afrin, Zycam, and vertigo medicine...FUN!! Anyway, I am doing little projects as I can and promise to have pictures up soon...so keep an eye out!!

Oh, plus...BIG NEWS...New Years Eve is my last day at work, so I will have more time to make some scrap goodies, after all my chores get done around the house of course!
